It helps if you mention your phone model, its operating-system version and the app version, which you will find under Settings › About. A screenshot is often the quickest way to show what you see. How we handle your message is described in the privacy policy.
Common questions
Where do the prayer times come from?
By default, where Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı publishes official times for your place, the app shows them and labels them as official. Everywhere else, times are calculated on your phone with the method named on the Prayer screen. Methods can differ by a few minutes, so if a time looks wrong, first check the selected place and the timetable source.
The adhan or a reminder did not sound
Check that notifications are allowed for Elif Lam. On Android, also allow alarms for the app and exclude it from battery optimization. Some manufacturers delay alerts while battery saving is on. On iPhone, an alert plays a short sound; tap it to hear the full adhan in the app.
Moving to a new phone
Your notes, bookmarks, highlights and khatm progress are kept only on your phone. On Android the app excludes them from cloud backups; on iPhone it marks them to be left out of iCloud backups. Before you switch, open Settings › Backup, export your data and keep the file. On the new phone, install Elif Lam and import that file.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. The Quran text, the built-in Turkish translation and your notes always work without a connection, and so do calculated prayer times. Official Diyanet times are downloaded in advance and refreshed whenever the app is online; for any day without official data, the app shows calculated times and says so. Recitation audio and new translations need the internet.
Languages
The interface follows your phone’s language and can be changed under Settings › Application language. The interface language does not change the Quran text or the translation you read.
